How does Website in a Day actually work?
Stage 1: Onboarding
In our discovery call, we’ll chat about your goals and your offers, and whether this is the right fit. If it is, I’ll then send over your VIP invite, with a contract, payment link, and agreed build date.
Stage 2: Preparation
Before the design day, we’ll have a 60-90 minute call to discuss your keywords and your copy (which you’ll sign off before the day begins). 48 hours before, you’ll upload your branding, images and assets to our portal.
Stage 3: The Big Day
It’s officially website build day – with a 9am start, a lunchtime homepage sneak peek, and the full build delivered to you by the end of the day. While I’m squirrelling away, you can do whatever you want, whether that’s work-related or something totally different.
Stage 4: Aftercare
Within the next 24 hours, you’ll send any tweaks and feedback, and I’ll deliver those edits within a further 24 hours (that means it’s 100% done 48 hours later, for all you maths fans). We’ll then hop on a handover call for the login details and a training session on how to use your new site, plus you get 1 week of tech support for any troubleshooting issues.

A single day doesn’t seem like much – will my website feel incomplete or rushed?
With the prep I do beforehand (like keyword research, copywriting, and clarity around your brand and offers), and over a decade’s worth of website design experience, I already know how your site should look and work by the time I get to your design day. On your build day, I work exclusively on your site, allowing me to create a fully functioning website that’s built to help you get promoting ASAP. Good, hey?
What if I need more than the standard pages, or extra features like a shop, membership, or course platform?
If you need a few more pages than the included pages (Homepage, About page, 2 Services pages, Contact page, Blog page, Instagram Links page, and Custom 404), I can add additional hours the following day or later on. What do I need to prepare before my Website in a Day session?
To make the most of your build day, I ask that you have a few things ready:
→ A clear understanding of your offers and your business.
→ Your visual branding (logo, colour palette, fonts – ideally full brand guidelines)
→ High-quality photography (please, no iPhone selfies!)
→ Legal documents such as Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy
→ Any key links (social media, booking forms, third-party platforms)
→ Login/admin access to your website and any systems I need to connect (like email marketing platforms)
→ If you choose not to use the copywriting included in the package, you’ll also need to provide your final copy ahead of time
I’ll guide you through when you need these and what to do with them.
Ok, but what if I don’t have professional photos yet?
High-quality photography makes a huge difference to how your site looks. If you don’t have brand photos yet, I have some great recommendations for photographers. I don’t generally recommend stock images, but we can discuss this on our discovery call.
How quickly will my site be live after the Website in a Day session?
Your website will be built on a staging platform during your VIP day. Within 24 hours of any requested amends and your sign-off, I’ll move it over to your domain. That means your site can be live and ready to share almost immediately.
What happens if I need support after my site goes live?
You get 1 week of tech support after going live to cover any technical issues. This doesn’t include design tweaks, copy changes, or swapping images: these need to be covered during your amends stage. However, I’ll train you on how to make these updates yourself, and if you’d rather not, I also offer ongoing website maintenance where you can “buy my brain” and I’ll look after everything for you.
Do I need to be available all day during the Website in a Day session?
You don’t need to be waiting on the edge of your seat all day, but if you can be available for answering any last-minute questions I may send, that would be ideal! Otherwise, you’ll get a sneak peek of your homepage around lunchtime, and I’ll ask for a quick thumbs-up so I can continue with the rest. Apart from that, you can carry on with your day while I work behind the scenes – whether you’re spending the day doing something work-related, or something totally different.
How much input do I need to give on the design?
Your input is mostly up front, through your branding, copy approval, and sharing your goals for the next 3–6 months. From there, I take over. You’ll see a homepage preview on the day, and you’ll have 24 hours after delivery of the full site to request tweaks. Beyond that, you can kick back and relax!
Will my site show up in Google/ChatGPT straight away?
It takes weeks for Google to start recognising a brand new site, but once it’s recognised, your site will have all the on-page SEO foundations it needs, including optimised headers, metadata, keywords and page speed improvements built-in. As SEO is an ongoing thing, I’ll connect your site to Google Analytics so that you can track your performance going forward. If you’d like more in-depth SEO strategy we can work on that additionally.
What if I don’t need copy or hosting? Will it be cheaper?
The Website in a Day package is designed as a complete experience, so the price is the same whether or not you choose to use every element. The copywriting, hosting, and SEO prep are all part of the process that ensures your site is strategic, fast, and ready to go.
My website currently exists on a different builder - could you still work with it?
As each website is built from scratch, it doesn’t matter what you’re currently working with – if you’re happy with a WordPress website going forward, I can create it! (I can also advise on switching and all the nerdy bits there, too).
How does payment work?
Full payment is required 5 working days before your design day, but payment options are available. You can pay monthly, or in different chunks – whichever suits you. Payment is taken online, and everything (including contract and schedule) will be clearly set out when you book.
